Hey all, does anyone know of an Aussie source for EBC Redstuff pads for 7.5" Cooper S brakes. I've had a look through the usual suspects, but the closest I can find are in the UK, and I'd rather support a local.

Not sure if you have used these before but they can take up to 2,500Km's (normal driving) to bed in properly. Carbon Metallic's work well and bed in quicker - Just incase you can not find the Redstuff.

I think Minisport in SA have both.

yeah i'm hoping with redstuff's on the order list you've got some serious track work coming up...

i had greeenstuff's in my HIGH horsepower series 4 rx7 and they were great when warm on the road, and very good on the track to a point (mallala is stupid hard on brakes though). they were useless when cold

i've got greenstuffs in my metro calipers now... admittedly i didn't get much time with them before the car came off the road again, but i have bought a set of black stuffs to put in there as i thought the greens were too hardcore for average daily driving

if you're going redstuff, plan some hardcore driving.

carbon metallics = no fade at mallala. hard pedal though, and the first application is scary, even if you're just rolling down your driveway it wont stop.

blackstuffs are rubbish, dont work great when cold and fade easily.

Whats the application, road, track work?
Depending on where you are you could always try Minis Plus in Melbourne.

Thanks for the replies, I have the redstuffs coming tomorrow.
They will be going in our 998cc tarmac rally car for Targa Wrest Point. We ran greenstuffs last year and found a decrease in brake performance on a few of the stages (longer stopping distance, increased pedal pressure), but it was bloody hot too!
We've run redstuffs in a previous event, and found them pretty good, so are keen to give them another run.

(Perhaps the best solution is more time on the throttle and less on the brake! Might even give the stage times a touch up that way, or the gum trees even.)

Well... on a Mini run early this year down Mt Keira with Blackstuffs in, I had SFA brakes left at the bottom!!
But around town as a daily, sure, they work OK.

maybe i need to stick with the greenstuff and just drive harder on the way to work so they warm up!

I currently use Greenstuffs, which are great for road use/track days but I'm always on the lookout for something better for track days.

Let us know how you go with them.

Diecast, got them from a local (Hobart) mob, $215 inc gst.
Will have to put some miles on them to bed them in before the end of Jan, from memory they aren't much fun in traffic, but great when hot.
