I'm preparing to fit the Megasquirt this week. I will initially be just get going the wasted spark (EDIS) side going as well as the Megasquirt controlling the thermostatic radiator fan that I'll be mounting in the inner guard.

    Removed Dissy, leads and all related wiring;
    Removed non-resistor spark plugs (Need resistor plugs for ECU installations);
    Removed radiator (sounds easy, but wasn't :twisted:);
    Removed radiator Fan... tossed it, won't be needing it again!;
    Degreased and cleaned radiator with my Kärcher as it fins were very blocked, couldn't find the right size pop-rivets in my supplies to re-fit the side bracket that has come away;
    Degreased engine bay area;
    Drilled some holes in my stock air cleaner housing to allow for better breathing (that the theory anyway);
    Fitted coupling on air cleaner for the IAC (Idle Air Control)

That was enough for me for one day... what no beer in the fridge! :evil: :shock:

Sprayed the vertical seams of my project mini with primer in preparation to put the seam covers back on.
Ordered some parts from MiniSpares UK so as to take advantage of the VATFREE sale which ended last night.
4 x Yokohama A539 tyres 165-60 x 12 = 122.35 GBP plus freight still makes them cheap. :wink:

Sprayed the spiders that are currently residing in the engine bay. Waiting for Chrissy bonus to buy a short block to finish putting it all back together at some stage.... In the near future.... Some time this Millennia.... Before I die.... Maybe.....

when puting it back on the trailer at grand day out (its first outing) the 2 stops at the end of the ramp collapsed and my poor cooper S bounced forward over the end of the trailer and landed on the spare wheel space (which had no spare wheel on it) and two of the studs went through the front beaver panel and crushed it up pretty bad. a couple of inches more and it would have gone through the gear box casing :shock: :shock: Oh well sh1t happens. at least i didnt do it Dad did it, i was driving the moke back to the factory. at least now if i bend one of dads beasts while hillclimbing or autocrossing ive got a spare card up my sleeve.

Cheers, the still depressed steve

Mini. Nothing.

1100? yes

Got a "safety certificate" inspection (rwc sounded much better) and was all ok except the rebound buffers. A quick swap-o-change-o and there are new ones in there, ready for the re-inspection tomorrow.

rwc fella said he'd be happy to give the ok tomorrow with those fitted :D

One happy Vulcan tomorrow when he goes to QT to pickup his plates & sticker... wahooo!

:D :D

cheers,

Jacob

Pulled the HS6 SU back off the stroker (blocked/swollen FuelMiser main jet hose, 2 weeks use with 98 premium).
Put the GR modded Pulsar dizzy on to replace the 45D/Chinese electronic module that died during troubleshooting. RIP...

Started tracking down my possible blown head gasket in the van.
I backed off and re-tightened each head stud in turn and found one a bit looser than the others.
Started it up and it ran for longer than before but after a few minutes of mid to high revving it started to miss at idle, overheated and near on emptied to rad.
Time for my mechanic mate to come round before I pull the head off for a look.
He might find something else.

Worked on the project over the weekend and I fitted the vertical body seam strips with clips and seam sealer. Then masked up the body and sprayed the underbody with stone guard.
