I have used those Smiths mechanical water and oil guages and unfortunately they are not the quality of the original 'Smiths' guages. I got sick of replacing and having them repaired so ended up getting mechanical VDO guages that can be made to look exactly like the 'Smiths' ones if you buy them with a chrome ring, white needle and reprinted background - so much better quality! Oh and Roger at Howard instruments does a nice VDO tacho with smiths background and chrome bezel (to look like the MGB type) :wink:
