Candy will quite comfortably pull between 7000 and 8000 rpm before running out of puff. Before fitting the weber and extractors though was hesitant to go beyond 6500. Once I fit a decent fuel pump to stop her leaning out, should be able ot keep pulling beyond 8000 me thinks!! :D

Ciao Ray.

Go much beyond 8000, and you can expect bearing and crank problems.. as my friend Dave the Nb racer keeps finding out.
Safer to quit at 8K or sooner. No A series performance cam gives peak power beyond 7,200 anyway, in a 1275-1400.

In the 1960s Honda was well known for its racing motorcycles that reved to 18,000 or more. What was not well known was that Honda was fiddling the tacho drives so that the tacho was showing very high.
The other teams thought that Honda was winning because of high revs and tried to build motors that would rev the same.

Yeah, but those S600's revved. No other car of any price went anywhere near them at the time.
