Hi, just wanna hook up a digital tachometer to a swift gti (mk1) mini.
The tacho has 3 wires, power(red), ground (black) and signal (green).
I think the green one goes to the "-" of the coil and the red one goes to the power at the back of the key switch
When I turn the key clockwise, the ignition light and oil light is on. Once I press the button on the floor, the minis engine starts.
This is the back of my key switch
A.) This is on the driver's side. Always 12v
B and C.) 0v initially. After I turned the key clockwise, B & C then becomes 12v. If I press the engine start button on the floor, they are always 12v (and more). If no ignition, no engine start and everything is off, these goes back to 0v
So does that mean I should hook the red wire up to either B or C?
or is there a better way to do it? to hook it up to the main control, etc????
Thanks heaps.
