No, they are/were Italian made, then Spanish. Solex PHH are made in Japan...
Weber sidedrafts started with the DCO sand cast series back in the 50s... then the DCOE have been available since early 60s approx. So design is old, but well known.
Dellortos are a more recent Weber copy, and a few design things eg start circuit, & accelerator pump were changed for the better. There are also more jets available in closer size steps.
Vizard reckons they give better fuel atomisation than a Weber, and he preferred them for road motors- but for racing most people prefer to use a Weber.
