I was heading north on the Hume on Monday. There were minis a-plenty going the other way. I had half the bus reporting spotted minis for most of the trip.

sorry to hear ,but 5 cracks and a toasted center main, I would like to see some pics of where the crank is cracked just out of interest. They usually just have 1 big crack and two pieces of crank.

:? :? Justin, Justin, Justin,,, what are we going to do with you aye???

You rush things so much... has that rear wheel bearing seized up yet? They don't work well when you bash them in with the old races still in there trying to rush the night b4...

Bad luck about the motor mate, I feel your pain.. hope you get it fixed soon.. at least you can borrow Jarred's..

While the car is off the road, please take the time to fix that Quater panel infront of the drivers door, and paint it for once... we all want you to..

Well I'm finally f'ing home! 12hrs from Townsville via the inland route thru Charters Towers, Greenvale, Mount Garnet and Mareeba for what is normally a 4hr run via the coast road. The road was shocking, very narrow, one lane in places, was fun (not) passing the B doubles. Left Goulburn Monday morning. Boy, am I glad to be home. No dramas on the trip home, Berlina Gen 3 ran like clockwork.

Thanks Graham and Lockie. Epic trip alright, nearly 8200k. Hate to think how many litres of 98 Ultimate we used  Had a great time. The mini (#305) performed perfectly, no probs other than the battery cable breaking the terminal at the starter motor on the last run and some out of balance wheels. Running on the track kept us pretty busy so didn't get to meet as many fellow ausminier's as I hoped :(

What a massive journey! Glad to see you and the Brick eventually made it home safely.
I headed due south from Goulburn up over the Monaro High Plains through Cooma and Bombala to Cann River on the Vic Coast, hardly saw another car until Cann River and it was a very picturesque drive - especially watching a beautiful sunrise over the misty high plains (as well as watching out for 'roos and wombats)
Thanks for your friendly competition during the weekend Steve, we had some great runs together. :D

Thanks for the pic Julie (Kyoda).

I just checked the oil in the 1412 stroker, found it used NONE on the trip down from Sydney and back. I sat it on 4,600rpm most of the way.
Good advert for running your engine in under load on the engine dyno. :P
Pistons are Hypatecs, but with a Nippon ring set, not Hastings.
