I'm just resetting my front wheels to be straight, I only have 8 turns of the tie rod onto the steering arm, factory preset was 10 (late model rack untouched).
Is this enough or should I look for a new longer tie rod end?
Thanks.
:D

8 turns engagement is plenty, IMO.
There are only 6 threads inside the lock nut, and they don't strip.

4 11% 82%
5 9% 91%

The first six threads of (more or less*) any bolt take 98% of the load
(Reference, since I know how important it is these days...)

*My qualifier.
