If removing the heater should I blank the tap or connect the hose the to the bottom rad hose? Cheers.

In Tassie you could probably just blank it off, but if running a hose and no heater it's best to put it into the top hose.

In Tassie in winter I would probably keep the heater!

Thanks drmini, where can I get a top hose with a takeoff, I need to put in a new radiator as the current one has the heater hose coming up the front and I can't shut the bonnet properly. It is a 1275LS engine in a traveller shell if that makes a difference.

. The heater had no electrics just the water running through the matrix and it leaked.

You would probably need to make something up with a tee fitting. Or add another hose connection to the top tank (a radiator repair shop can do this). IMO a waste of time in Tassie as it's cool down there.

C'mon Kev, have you got ice in your veins?

I lived through a couple of Tassie winters and I put a heater in for the first time so that the inside of the car was WARM for a change

cheers

We drove Barney round Tassie a while back in winter, NO heater... :P
But yeah if it was my car, at my age I'd just stick a Clubby heater in it too.
