Just on the extinguisher I would not like it under the passenger side of the dash as if in an accident the passenger would have it straight in knees. I like it positioned between the floor and the Seat cross member under the passenger seat.

Back to the original post you can make your own driver side

the passenger side top is bent in such a way as to lock itself into position once it is pushed into position. and screws from underneath. nice and simple.

the drivers side is the same bar for the fact that you can remove the front face panel to access behind once installed.

very nicley made, and good value i thought.

it is very nicley crinkle coated, not quite as much as some of the origonal works dash's i have seen in pics from back in the days, but very nice.

the old hip pocket is hurting from other repairs/repalcements recently so the drivers side will have to wait a few weeks for installation 8)

Hi Gaf, no i still have'nt fitted the drivers side yet. The passenger side is still in but i just havent had the time to redo all the wiring etc for it. The bugger with mechanical guages is you have to remove the fittings from the engine and pull the lot through the fascia hole in order to remove it, so with as many guages as i have  its a big job to fit the new works dash panel.

i had planned to fit it before the QLD mini muster this year so i will have to get to it soon i think

i will post pics of the project when i get to it. It sure will look great though when its done.

Finally got around to fitting the dash panels in. Really happy with the result. It may not be exactly what the works mini's had setup, but it is much more functional than the old panel i had fitted. Access is much easier and i think it looks period enough for my taste.

I still have to compete some connections to the volt and ammeter but otherwise it all works.

Switches on the right are ignition power and fuel pump.

Aw, thats disappointing, thought they would be "oil slick" and "smoke screen"

....seriously though, that looks really neat. What are your plans for the passenger side?

I was thinking on the passenger side i might fit a cigarette lighter socket, and flexible map light, maybe more switches for something.

or i might leave it blank, looks ok how it is, but i would like a cig lighter socket to use az an power fitting.

hey maybe it fit some james bond type gizmos!

Just don't go too crazy on the other side, or things will look cluttered
