Small update

I got a wheel alignment on the beast and it made a heap of
difference, On low boost the car is very drivable and tracks quite well
On high boost (when given a gutfull) its a bit squirelly but very managable
In fact its just awesome.

Took my mate ashy for a spin and he's left finger print impressions in the dash :D :D :D

Could be as early as next week. The Cooper will howl down the Mornington Fwy tomorrow evening again. No absolute guarantees I'll get over there however this week...work is a fickle thing atm...

Quick update

I've taken two weeks off to hopfully finish this puppy

There is still a bit to do in the interior, I've fitted some comfy seats out
of a turbo cordia and started finishing the dash.

I cant afford to get the interior retrimmed at the moment so i have just used the old vinyl spray and it's come up a treat

The seats

The dash covered

And still a lot of wiring to finish off

What do you mean a lot of wiring?
Looks like you just need to put some seats in and you're good to go!

Seriously though, looking amazing, I love watching this car!

Just a quick update

I still have a bit to do before the engineer comes back for the last time :D
and i'm still saving for some decent seats ,which is holding me up.
Money is as scarce as rocking horse poo at the moment so i'm
trying to be patient.

I have taken the car for a test drive and it is just awesome

Definently gets the sphinkter valve working

Heres a couple of pics of the car looking finished but far from it

looking very very nice mate.

One question. Would you be able to tell me what sort of blue paint you used on the master cyclinder towers and pipes?

I find that any paint I use here, looks great until you go bleed the brakes, where you have to generally crack a few lines/ joins, to get the flow happening with these dual cyclinders...

Where was the paint from,, spray gun I imagine not can? and did you have any under coat, and a clear finish or something to protect it.

Did you have any issues with it coming off with the brake fluid?

Thanks mate. sorry to hijack the thread  I'm just about to do this on mine, so thought I'd ask. :)

Hi Lockie
Paint is just 2 pack and its already coming off unfortunatly
Put it on with a gun and undercoat but like you said as soon as you
bleed the brakes it starts to fester

Interior looks great, think I might be doing the same to begin with. That vinyl paint comes up a treat.

Nearly there mate. Have you spoken to Frank about what happens with the final inspection etc?

Thanks Madmorrie
Not in concrete. but as far as i'm reading into it,
It's just a noise test, brake test and throw the car up on the hoist to
tick all the boxes

Heres hoping i'm reading right

I've had a set back , the dish on my wheels are to far over track and
basically i need new wheels which is a big hit to hip pocket

I'm still hoping to have Frank come next week but we'll have to wait and see if i get everything finished

Cheers Hallsey

Hi Hallsey,

Mini looks awesome and the interior looks great.

Just borrow wheels like '77 said, and then swap back, no-one will check.

Oh, and greetings from SWITZERLAND!!!!!

Cheers,
Tricky
