I had a Alfa75 for 10 Years with the Blinkers on the left and lights/horn on the right. You get so use to it it feels funny Get into a Mini at Times.
I'll also add. I can't tell how many times I'v gone for 5th Gear in the Mini. Autos are just so boring

so on the subject of wipers is there any way of upgrading the wiper arms and blades to something that works?

Trico have (had?) a Universal Arm, it was adjustable in length and has a decent spring, I use these with an 11" Blade and they are just great.....but you need to be sure that your wiper arm Box is in good nick or the arms can come off!

I used to get them through Repco, I haven't needed to buy any for a while. I think there were a couple of different Universal Arms, main difference being how they fitted to the spindle. They were not cheap (around $80 for the set, but last one I bout was over 15 years ago).

I bought complete `Tex' S/S ones from Minispares UK. They have been on for years and are still working great.
However, they needed to be bent to suit the late Oz wiper setup. And the Oz common wiper blades (the outer metal bit) won't clip on the arms as they are different sizes.. :x So when I need new rubber blades it'll be a hassle.

I ended up finding a set off a 93 camry, Im going to weld some brackets to the column to hold it on since its not a clamping type. Just need to sort the wiring now.

Can the clubby two speed motors be wired to cope with an intermediate wiper setting? I imagine the wiring is similar to the starlet.

They sure can, one intermittent is easy, more with different time lapses can be a bit harder. You just need to obtain a timer module first.

Alrighty next question, what are people using for shrouds on their more modern wiper setup. Im thinking I will need to modify the camry shroud with a bit of fibre glass and cover it all in vinyl.
You can see in my pic its a little chunky and a little short so im thinking chopping it up and lengthening a bit to under the dash, any ideas?
