Just wondering if you can still use the cable you have by bending a loop into the end, even if just until u find the right cable.

Only problem is if that doesn't work the cables ruined. (can't sell or return it then)

I could actually. I could put in a loop and then clamp the ends.

It'll get it going. Perhaps I might come across something this weekend (at mini expo).

You just need to make a clamp that will hold the cable to the rod.
Everyone start thinking...

I am sure I have the correct cable. I will bring it to the Minishow and give it to you. For free. Because I am a nice bloke.

Hijack time!

On the clubby heaters (the black plastic in-car jobs), how does the heat adjuster (hot-cold) connect to the heater? I think it attaches at the back of the heater somewhere, but I can't see where. Anyone have a photo or a very good description?

It attaches to the tap on the heater hose.

Back to the original post.

Thanks David for the cable. You are a good bloke. Now I know how to describe that heater cable. It's the pig tailed one.

Much appreciated. I will see you at the next event.

The cable you require is unique to the under bonnet type heater and is not available new.

Aaaactually that's not entirely correct. A couple of years ago I was looking for one of these and as you say, couldn't find one for sale anywhere. I did manage to find a US-based company which makes them up though, and ordered one from them. It's perfect :D (although the rivet-counters will complain that the knob is wrong, but I don't care - it works :) )

JTR / Callin - let me know if you want me to dig around for the name of the company I used...

There you go - use the mob Morris mentioned, much easier than stuffing around with the U.S...
