yep, no worries - but if you care about the paint on your drivers side inner guard, put a blanket or something over it in case the motor swings to that side

Righto thanks, hope to do it this weekend.

While i have most of the front end in pieces i want to clean up everything (such as the rod arms, drive shafts etc..). Shall i just go nuts with degreaser on all metal bits and replace any rubber/bushes? any other suggestions while i have in bits?

Welded a new bit of tube to the centre branch of my Maniflow LCB (where I had to cut the rusted **%^^%* to get it out last time).
Then I wire brushed the whole thing bare and gave it a coat of VHT silver. It looks like a bought one.
Good for another 10 years when the 1360 goes back in. :P

Should be no need, I did 4myego's 1360 S like that and it's fine...
Maybe your Weber needs a tune.. the 34 chokes are a bit big for an 1152.

bit more wiring - worked out colour codes and wire placement are correct for pre 1964 ENGLISH car not AUSSIE Parcel shelf lights have been left out of loom completely and had to cannibalise some from the old loom. Pulled the centre out of the speedo cable to grease it (brand new and dry) and it won't go all the way back - more fiddle tomorrow.

Removed the rust primed and painted the demister Y pieces. Started to rewire the headlight relay sockets with the 'correct' coloured wire. Dug out the new gauges - water temp, oil pressure, volts and mounted them in a pod - now where to mount then :?

Changed out the oil pressure spring on the 997. I had really poor oil pressure regulation: 100 cold, 20 hot :!:
Changed it out with a new one and the problem has disappeared. Turns out the old one was around 10 mm shorter than the replacement (old one=56mm)

Also rolled out the new side mouldings for the Cooper S. I did such a crap job of the first set I've decided to do them again.
Used plastic spring clips to hold them onto the roller door until they decide they want to be straight in a few months or so. At 40 bucks per side locally, you would think they would be of better quality than this...
