Nah Jan, i todl everyone on Ausmini to call me before i left and got two phone calls!! yove left it just to melbourne so he may get 1 or 2, but bus is bus id say, i cant speak for him, but i think its cool.

what i was trying to say (without sounding like a cruel wally) is that after working there, people may think i have the be all and end all for advice, and pricing, so if i say something and someone at shannons disagrees (as often may happen) it would reflect badly on them and myself... but i honestly dont mind if people pm me so anything i say is specific for them and wont be taken out of context or used ina propriatlely...do people understand what i mean??? im not trying to be a wally or anything honeslty, just trying to be fair...

We've got Barney with Shannons.. ~$270? for $7,000 cover.
Mini Ha-Ha is with Vigil at the mo, but Shannons will be getting a call shortly.

Where do u want me to start? 12inch steering wheel, Lowered steering colum, Racing seats, aftermarket seat mounts, 3 point harnesses, Adjustable (Hi-Lo) suspension, extractors, 2 inch exhaust, 12in mag wheels, Engine mods, lynx air filters, big stereo system.

Most insurance companies frown on any mods at all!!! They need to know every mod u have done otherwise if it comes time to do a claim and it gets looked at by the insurance company, if they spot some thing that they dont know about it can void your insurance.

As soon as i rattled of these mods it was pretty much nooo from every 1!!! I had to get an agreed value on my car for shannons n vigil, thats why it was so expensive.

Unbelievable! It's hard to understand why Shannons wouldn't have taken that car. I have mutant insured with them, no worries at all.

Sorry guys maybe a little confusion, Shannons and Vigil both accept the car, its just that the cost is toohigh. I cant justify that much money on insurance each year. Rego is bad enough!!!! All the other major normal insurance companies said NO. AAMI/RACQ/Suncorp u know.

The term is "self insured" but don't be mistaken, yes you will have to pay his bills if you damage him but if he is insured you'll find that his insurance company will hound you to pay his bills even if you are not at fault. Fare? honest? right? justified? legal? none of these terms apply when it is small individual against a large corporate entity. They do it because they can get away with it. It is the law of the fittest, why should they pay up when they can bully someone else into paying the bill.

With no insurance company there to represent you, your only option will be to spend big on laywers fighting it through the courts. in most cases you'll find it just plain cheaper to shut up and pay up.

Advise: If nothing else, invest in a cheap 3rd party policy to protect against this one.

Don't get me wrong - I'm with you. All insurance companies can go take a flying leap off the nearest cliff in the ideal world, but in this one it is better to get in bed with one of them, just to protect yourself from all the others.
