Hi all my name is Sam.
I have just taken delivery of 1969 mk 2 Cooper s.
My Father bought it from the showroom new and has been stored in our shed for 20 yrs.
It had 12 months use about 6 yrs ago when i managed to convince him to lend it too me after smashing my v8 berlina.
Anway he was going to sell it so i have taken on the project.Its seen better days but has low miles and just had allot of work done on the head and carbies.
Its in the shop getting the clutch master and slave cylinder's done and then ill see where im at. Probably have to look at the brakes after such a long time unused.
Also i need to attend to the paintwork but no respray till i can get some cash together.My other car is a Calais International 5.7lt so the cars are hurting my pocket.
Any suggestions and constructive help would be appreciated.
cheers
Sam :lol:

Hope to get it running nicelly and meet up with some of you on a cruise day.

Hi all,

Just an intro from a new member. No mini at the moment :? but am lurking on here to get my brain mini-oriented and get back up to speed :lol:

Originally from Townsville, first car was a 74 Clubman (BRG w/white roof), 1100 block, ported head, double valve springs, O/S valves, LCBs, dual 1 1/4" SUs, 10" jelly beans, custom timber dash with Clubby GT guages. Went OK and looked the part til it was put away in a friends shed for a few years. Pulled it from the shed a few years back with the intention of rebuilding it but alas it was suffering from a terminal rust condition :cry:

So moving along a few years i'm now in Brisbane. Got a house down here and with some luck i'll be starting to build my SHED very shortly :D shortly after which should be followed by the purchase of another mini 8) Not 100% sure on a plan as yet but it will be round nose and kinda loosely based around a cooper replica idea. I am thinking old school charm with some new school tricks underneath. See what happens.

Even though i haven't been in "the scene" I still reconise a few people on here. I remember seeing Mini Smeg's "Red Dwarf" running around Tville, have traded a few emails with Con asking about his GTi conversion, and low & behold where i've moved to is a stones throw me! Don't worry Matt, I wont be testing that theory :twisted: Anyway, there goes the neighbourhood huh :oops: :lol:

Hello everybody.

My name is James

I live in sydney

I drive a 1978 XC falcon
its costing me too much to drive so I'm fixing up my '74 1100 clubman to drive instead, expect lots of silly technical questions from me as I'm a bit of a n00b!

Welcome Jimmeh... it's always good to see a fellow clubman owner.

n00b = newbie

Here's a couple more you'll come across:
ROFL = Rolling On Floor Laughing
ROFLMAO = Rolling On Floor Laughing My Ass Off
BTW = By The Way
IMO = In My Opinion
IMHO = In My Honest Opinion
PO = Previous Owner

I could go on for years but I won't... :D
