Well, I've Been in bed with the flu since Thursday afternoon. Wife comes in saying 78 Mini in the paper $700. jumped outa my sweatbox and into the car. Seller hasn't started it for 4 years. Turns out it was just down the road. Didn't haggle. Good price.

Wife said it was Orange. Turns out it is a matalic blue. Can't remember the name. Anyone remember where colours list is? My lists only go to 72-73.

Should pick it up after lunch. I'll post some picks up.

Yahoo, " I feel better now.....so much better now[/i][/i]"

Is the only collection of colour charts I know of.

It looks like it only goes up to 72 though..

If it's original colour is orange, it would likely be Home on Th'orange wouldn't it?

Silver Blue Metallic is the light metallic blue from that time (same as the 998LS)
Squadron Blue is the regular blue from 78.

Thanks All.

Morris 1100, right you are. Under the bonnet's a Sqadron Blue label. Previous owner has painted it a similar matalic. The engine bay, floor etc are the Sqadron Blue. I must say I'm pleased as I'm not crazy about matalics.

Details are:
99H889AJH0029##
Firewall is stamped 16418
M2
22 behind M/Cylinders
Comp plate XNHAB1 / 1048## 10/1978
Positive earth
taco, speedo & fuel / temp
White seats
Red S badge on grill

Threw in a battery, some new petrol, Cranked it over and went for a burst around the block. Great note to it and a suprise compared to 850.

Is this what we call a clubman?
I presume it's a standard 998
How close is this to the last productions?
Thanks All
Alex.

It is a Leyland Mini S.
It would be fairly close to the end of production.
Production ended in October 78 but they were still sticking compliance plates on for a couple more months. The very last Mini has the number 105303.

JUSTIN.

So did I. I noticed a red tag on the floor/battery earth lead.
Checked the terminal size. Hooked it up (only way leads would fit)
And started and ran. Alt light went out as expected.

I checked for stickers under the bonet.

Cheers
Alex.
