So how is the speedo? Did you go to the place that I said?

I did take it to the place in Unanderra yes, all seemed good with the speed being correct etc, but noticed just as I was coming back up the road home that none of the miles were ticking over (ie I wasn't accruing anymore mileage)

I'll be popping back in there on Monday to ask why?!

I will have another look at it myself tomorrow, but everything else seemed fine

That is a pity, they might have left a spring off the little arm that pushes the reels. Easy fix but a pain in the bum to have to pull it apart again.

I was having a play with an 1100 speedo today. I think I need to play with it again tomorrow!

true - the chrome is in better nick than my old one

just that the original had the proper milage and more warning lights, like oil, ignition, highbeam etc otherwise I'd be happy keeping the ebay replacement installed

might keep it anyways as it cost me bugger all inc postage

Hi Steve,

Since the overhaul is the needle nice and steady?

Mine wobbles a little (+/- 2 mph) up to say 50 then starts to get worse. Also reads about 5mph fast.

I'm wondering if it's worth getting looked at.

Rehung the side doors, which was easy enough to manage as they don't have the glass etc in them. And satisfyingly, even though they were painted separately from the body and from a second batch of paint, there's no shading difference in colour. So I am HAPPY!

Also found the new rear door seals which I'd combed the garage for weeks looking for, so it's full steam ahead. Also painted the instrument cluster matt black since that's the theme for the interior.

I'm getting quite excited now. Still plenty to do though.

it seems fine and steady yes - I took it back in there this arvo and he checked then and there why the miles weren't ticking over and showed me the tiny cog wheel was missing one tooth! - ten mins later he had replaced it and I reinstalled the speedo in his carpark and drove away a happy customer

$110 inc GST for the speedo overhaul
