Instead of removing the nut you can turn both down to ~1/2 their original thickness so that you don't have to pull them out again to put the lock nut back on.

hey silly question but the Hi-lo is seating its self inside the rubbercone ?

i know my race car can dislodge its cones when you lift it up ... does make the car sit extra high ..

and if you remove the lock nut check that the thread of the Hi-lo doesnt bottom out onto the rubber doughnut when you re-assemble

You both have some valid points and I will be doing more research prior to making any changes which may prove either difficult to reverse or dangerous
But I do want the car to sit a little lower at the front

And yes I put some grease on the hi Los prior to inserting into the donuts and I also dummy fitted the hi Los prior to assembly into the subframe

I guess it's a case of watch this space for an update over the coming days and weeks

The lock nut / jam nut in the photo is already quite thin, so machining half of this away again will render the jam nut useless, though from an engineering point of view, it's doing bugger all anyway in this installation, so it may as well just not be there.

The other thing is: Are the kits the same front and back?

The Adjusta Rides are the same but the front cones are a lot taller than the rear ones and more conical. Meant to give a more progressive spring rate. They transformed the ride in my Moke, but my old cones were knackered.

So are we sure that its not a case of longer cones in front because its heavier as opposed to longer ones in the back because its lighter (where a longer cone would compress more with less weight on it depending on how hard the rubber is)?
Just thought I'd add some confusion.

Longer cones in the front and standard cones in the rear, thats what the packing list and the fitting instructions say. And yes the front ones are taller and were therefore more difficult to fit.
I think they just need compressing and time.
