On the 28th of December an advert was posted on Gumtree for a 1966 Mk1 Cooper S in need of a "nut & bolt restoration". The single blurry photo showed a light blue car that was complete and not obviously shagged. The ad has gone but it was ID 341363041.

Price $7250 !

I emailed about it but dithered as I would be a total sucker for a fake with very little knowledge of real versus forgery. Yesterday I got an email back saying the car was sold.

So who bought it?? Was it someone on here?

I looked at that car approximately 3 months ago before it went for sale publically. It is a heap of garbage. You did well to avoid it. Was a genuine car but the rust and body damage is not worth repairing. Everything on it was buggered. The owner has basically paid for a crappy shell and a non running Cooper S engine and an ID plate.
Hope it wasnt someone on here. Sorry guys.
