On the inlets i use .040 wide seats and on the exhaust i usually use .060 wide wear is not a problem.
Another thing about having the valves flush with the chamber is for better combustion the flame travel across the roof of the chamber is a lot smother it does not have valves sticking up in the parth of the flame to disturb it allowing for better combustion.

It's a little sleeve thats put down in side the valve guide dearer than new guides but last a lot longer.

Good point and also I guess, not having fuel hiding in the crevices.

Thank you for the pictures Mr Russell , it confirmed what I thought about seats (allways nice :wink: ). I allways seem to get better seats when starting off with a small valve head instead of some huge salad bowl heads I did some seatwork/damage control for.

Would you mind if I used these to illustrate a point about seat configurations on a blog i'm working on ? (with reference to your work or course)
