Just bought one not 30 mins ago for $315. Now I am on the internet looking for the kit(unless someone has one here... ).

The only one I can find is at Minisport in Adelaide(geez my credit card has been getting a pizzling with this shop!!)for $1195 and I already have the HIF44. Hope the 1018 cc bucket likes it's new toy

So much for being a poor Uni student now...gotta love pussers pay-outs!

Any advice on the in's and out's of this conversion are welcomed...

I believe i was watching the ebay auction that you won... ;) http://www.ebay.com.au/itm/160752024108 ... 1423.l2649

I'm thinking i might try and make an AMR500 work given the way prices of the SC12 are going. You can buy a brand new AMR500 for $900 or second hand ones from as low as $150.

Physically they're a much better size for fitting in a mini engine bay... and looking at the spec's they should be okay for the kind of capacity and RPM of a mini motor.

I think an AMR500 would be perfect for a stock 998. We might try one on the auto Rover 998 that mrs poeee wants to put in the 850.

bang for buck I reckon they're just too small...

have a look at the link I put up in the last page (http://www.ausmini.com/forums/viewtopic.php?t=69229) petensoaf had one but replaced it with an SC12.

I bought a spare SC12 off ebay last year for $255, the week before there was another one that I was outbid on that ended at about $270. Still plenty of cheap ones around

I did a quick scan of that thread and didn't he mention he was running an AMR300 not the 500?

Also, if you look at the link i supplied in my previous post, the AMR500 should be fine. I'm wondering how many people have actually tried using one... There seems to be a lot of opinions on the matter. Dunno how many are based on experience.

Molina if you can get the AMR300 or 500 for under $200 I'd definitely give it a go. I've looked at the AMR300 for a 998 and that's about as big as I'd go safely with the 300 but the 500 could be good for a worked and bored 1100 IMO.
The SC12 is off a 1.6L engine and can go down or up in engine size so it's a very popular SC and can be used on soooo many different engines, that's why their still getting decent prices anywhere between $200 and $500.

The AMR300's are too small if you want to make a difference in power, i tried one before going the SC12 route. Couldn't get an AMR500 at the time but they would be better but the SC12 works well.
Another good place to get SC12's from is Trade Me from New Zealand they are cheap but the postage is more, usually a few to choose from too.

I walked upon a full setup to bolt on except the pulley for the charger is missing.

I got it for a very good price considering the prices people are talking about on here.

However, I've been struggling to get a pulley to fit to the charger...

Anyone have any spare please let me know

Lockie just get one made if you cant find one, might not have a clutch but it'll be quick and easy.

I'd ask on the toymods forum, plenty of people on there take the standard ones off and fit smaller pullies so must have the old ones laying around. The smaller pullies are ~$300 on ebay

The engine I was trying it on was a 998 with a mild cam and ported head, ended up driving the SC twice engine speed and it only made about 2-3 psi boost and no noticeable power increase. Stuffed around making a smaller volume manifold but did.t really change much. At that I figured the SC was too small and tried an SC12, which made a large increase in power.
