Fixed the leaky fuel line. The hose had started to perish and split where it fitted onto the filter. Fortunately there was enough length to play with, so just cut the daggy section off, reconnected the filter & away we go.

I also reckon the slam panel had been squashed a bit at some stage - the bonnet often popped up by itself, usually when the engine fired - and a close examination revealed quite a big panel gap at the front corners, but none under the centre of the bonnet edge. So I placed a small hydraulic jack on the front of the subframe & carefully jacked up the slam panel a few millimetres.

Of course I needed to take the grille off to do that, and it had never sat properly 'cos it was a bit bent (the ends sat higher than the middle), so I gave that a tweak too. Stood it over a tool box which is the right width to sit between the vertical braces & leaned on the ends to push them down. Takes a bit of effort to bend all seven bars at once! Finished off by replacing a few broken rivets in the slats, and then ran out of light, so I'll refit it to the car tomorrow.

(The grille isn't as munted as it looks in my avatar, that was just photobucket messing around with the resolution when I shrunk it to fit).

Touched up Alice's engine bay with some touch up paint while inbetween motors  Rattle can gambier turquoise is actually quiet similar to the proper 2pak job. Put new pads in my discs. Speedo cable caught on back of the diff housing when lifted and managed to mangle itself :x Was fixable though :) cleaned up the back of the shed at home with dad and found some pretty rare items which is always a good thing.

Last couple of days played with the rear adjusters - got the camber from +2.8 ish to -0.5. Now to work out the toe in.

Straightened the corner of the door that had been reskined then knocked off its hook in the ceiling and landed on the corner. Taken me 12 months to get around to it.

I sand blasted two flywheel assemblies, two sets of extractors, an inlet manifold and a 12G940 head.

Having clean parts is such a satisfying part of the process.

If the rain holds off the extractors will get paint this afternoon.

Sandblasting is downright therapeutic!

Washed it and then took it for a nice long drive.

Went to paint the extractors then thought I'd improve them a bit first. So I linished the mounting faces flat and as parallel as I could get them. Then I used a die grinder to smooth out the weld dags inside the flanges and then I welded and ground down some 1/2 washers on the flanges so they match the thickness of the alloy inlet manifold. I am sick of dropping 1/2 washers when trying to install these and also sick of blowing gaskets.

After all that I sand blasted the new welds and painted them in high temp paint. They look great but I doubt this paint will last any better than the last lot.

While I had the sand blaster out I did the inlet manifold and thermostat housing. Lovely!

Took the cluch arm and stuff apart from the wok and found too much wear on the pin and the end of the lever. More parts to order.

I didn't get to take the drop gear/clutch housing off to get the end floats sorted. Maybe that can be a nighttime job since it doesn't involve the welder, angle grinder, belt sander, die grinder, air compressor and sand blaster like today's jobs. I AM the neighbour from hell today.

Started the engine for the first time with the Supercharger fitted
Seems to rev a lot easier now
Just need to move all of the other cars out of the way so I can take it for its first "Supercharged" drive :)
Maybe tommorrow :?:
