Reminds me, I must ring Graham tomorrow morning and ask about my cam grind......

Spent some of the weekend pumping up suspension and getting too familiar with pulling down gear boxes :!: I will end up with a good 3 synchro box out of it though for not too much money?

Should have room for the new car soon. Very exciting

What is it Mark?

I am hoping to buy a very nice dark blue 850 with white roof and stripes.

Soon the shed will have:
1 Moke - engine out
1 850 shell - needs underside painted and assembly <-- possibly for sale depending on offers and my mood.
1 Deluxe shell - needs new front panels adjusted - long term project for #1 son
1 850 - Actually works!!

Plus all the parts to put the 850 shell together and get the Deluxe shell rolling. No wonder the shed has no actual working room.

Painted drivers side calipers go-faster red
Cleaned hub and replaced both ball-joints
Did wheel bearings on the drivers side
Repaced tie-end rods.

Will put it all back together and do the same to passenger side in the next couple of days.

Does anyone know if the Quinton Hazell wheel bearings from Karcraft are any good?

I finally got to drive my mini tonight after not being on the road for 6 years. I had forgotten how much they make me smile. I only drove it round the block a dozen times but absolutely loved it. I took the kids out in it and they were laughing and giggling, they loved it. At 7 and 5 years old they haven't been in a mini yet. Minis were just things that sat in the shed in pieces that dad worked on. The only issue I had was it wouldn't warm up properly, I'll pull the thermostat out and check that cause I think it has a 75 degree one in it. The engine and radiator were very cool. Can't wait for tomorrow so I can drive it again, I had forgotten how addictive they were. :D

Fitted the rear windscreen and locking strip, thanks to Mick and his locking strip tool how-to (make your own)..

It looks alright, actually... a bit wobbly, but i think that's the least of my worries. :D

(some other wallies decided they wanted to be in the shot too.)

Decided it was time to go for a longer drive then just around a few blocks and managed to scare myself stupid.

Feeling brave or foolish, I got up to the earth shattering speed of 80kmh along the Robina Parkway. When I changed lanes the car bobbed all over the place, same thing going around a bend. I just managed to stay in my lane and thought I was going to crash into the median barrier until it settled down.

Drove rather slowly home for a underwear change.....
