Who can tell me whether the distributor on a B18C7 is the same as on a B18C6?

Trying to source a cap and rotor button but nobody lists the parts for a B18C7 and they are NLA from Honda

The info I got was that the 6 vs 7 are just to ID the areas for distribution, as some areas get better specs.
Like you, I was also unable to get any decent info on the distributor cap & just had to order it from Honda & hope it was correct. I'm not an expert, in case you wondered, but if you can send/request a photo from where you are ordering the distrib. you may be lucky. :?

A surprisingly large number of B-series parts are interchangeable tho. :)

I think I've found the correct genuine items from the US after a bit of looking. It is listed as suiting the B18C5 but looks identical... hopefully I can match up the part numbers to make sure

When I rang the local Honda dealership this morning, they didn't even know what a rotor button was! They asked 'Is it the round thing inside the distributor'....

I was lucky in that the dealership mechanics were both interested in my car & very approachable - they were very helpful, but even then, I had to make a leap of faith when I ordered mine. I had the same general issue with the engine mounts I ordered, but they also fitted with no problems. Good luck! :)

The C5, C6, Ax etc relates to Market ( country) and spec. Aust dealerships won't have the info for other markets necessarily. If you had a prt no they may be able to cross reference. Getting info out of Honda direct won't help either as they usually won't help. When I was a Service Manager one of the training guys was into modding and was usually good for info, though that was 15+ years ago.

Cheers,

Dicko.

In this case I am chasing the parts for my actual Type R, which I'm finding surprisingly difficult to get parts for!

I guess I'm spoilt with the plethora of parts available for Minis
