Should i have it soda blasted before hand to make it ready

If you take something to a powdercoater they will say whether it's too dirty or not.
So most likely, yes you should blast it first.

Don't forget about the bearings and seals, they will need replacing

yep defenatly take the bearings out first ..
my coater is also a sand blaster so it was very easy .. just be carefull of what they call out gassing which will cause little bubbles in the coating .. make sure its cleaned of all oil and dirt or it will happen

Only trouble with powder coat is it fades and goes chalky after a while.. I paint all my stuff but then I have access to all of the right equipment to do it properly.. I guess the key is whatever way you choose, clean it up and do it the right way

Well the whole engine is going to be 42 yr old brand new in everyway I can do it.. Hell the whole car is going to be as good as brand new.. No bearing will be old no seal will be old everything will be pulled apart and rebuilt so I'm not worried about that side of thing, so long as powercoating won't warp the housing and it will still look good in 2yrs time..
I've got 4 housings so I'll pick the best and take it to the soda blaster with the wheels I'm getting done
