Hi guys and girls!

I'm looking at buying some 10 x 6 mambas from midlandwheels for xmas soon with some A008's.

Just enquiring about peoples opinions on midlandwheels and the mambas in general. I'm a bit torn between the 10x5 and the 10x6. Any pros/cons of either?
I've been told they'll fit over the 7.5" brakes i've got, so that just leaves peoples opinions do you have any personal preferences?

What sort of freighting did people opt for? Did you get the valves and wheel nuts at the same time?

Im a bit concerned the dish of the 10x6 is a bit much. Help sway me!

I bought the 13x7s (big brakes) with the valves and wheel nuts.
Buying the bits seperately over here will cost you a fortune.

I wish I had bought tyres from there too.

Be careful with the sixes, everything except the widest of arches will not be able to cover the tyres fully. They look porn however.

I wouldn't get the 6's
They're stupidly offset, it's ridiculous. Unless overstated is your thing.

5's look nice.
Definitely buy as a package with tyres as well


I prefer revolutions, mamba's seem to be the flavour of the month/year though!

Any ideas how far?

Just picked up a set of fibre group 5 arches for a rainy day. Wondering how wide I'll have to go to fill them

Off the top of my head it's well over with S flares. Maybe half way into the first tread block width at worst. I'm told tyres make a difference so these were A008's.

Yeah A008's are thinner width tread than say A032R so you may just get away with it (and I mean by mm), but an over zealous cop may still ping you for it.

Stick with the 10x5's, I reckon they handle better and honestly, my A008's handle 120bhp just fine day to day (actually they are quite grippy and perform admirably considering 100ft/lbs going through them) so I doubt that extra 1 inch and headache is worth it...

I have a set of 12 x 6 Revo's (purchased with tyres) from Midland - great service.
The 12 x 6 sit under a set of W & P arches well on my clubman, I have a set of the chrome arches on my van and the 12 x 6 protrude past these, so the standard Cooper S arches probably won't be wide enough (the 12 x 5 minilites fit under everything, also don't rub).

In that case, sixes will be fine, although anything bigger is a little scary till you get used to it.

Pfft I've had 5's and 6's and neither on them feel any different.. Get what you want, I have 6's on mine and they're just about covered by wood and picket flares, probably illegal, but nothing legal ever looks good.. They're a nice looking wheel but everyone has them now hence why mine a matte black with orange pinstripes.. Had to change it up a bit..

On midland wheels themselves, awesome! Easy to order from, fast delivery and super cheap.. I bought mine with a032r's and the price was amazing! Only little thing was they were packaged a little lightly but apart from that.. No dramas, would buy again tomorrow.

I bought wheels and tyres last year from Midland great to deal with wheels and tyres came balanced and pumped up to the correct pressure with nuts and caps I would deal with them again be aware customs may remove the tyres for a look see thats ok but will delay arrival by a few days

Mamba 10x6 and same on the moke to the right. Will clear 7.9 minisport discs fitted to both cars. Purchased both sets from midland wheels delivered within a week of ordering. Brilliant!

Definitely flavour of the month for some! I loved them as soon as i knew about them (i got my mini in 2000, so a year or two after that), and have attempted to buy some original mambas, but the centre caps never seemed to be available. I just figured i should man up and get them whilst the exchange rate is ok

I am worried about their offset being a bit extravagant. I do like wide tyres and wheels but the amount of "flat" dish looks extreme in some angles... the 10x5 look to be more in proportion



ok thanks, i was leaning towards the 'S' or Grp 2 flares. Whilst sitting more or less flush is my aim, i don't want to protrude. This isn't Stanceworks or hellaflush style



thanks for that! I do aim for turbocharging down the line, and i have a mate with a spare BMW K1200 head with a kit lying about (who wants to make it fit in my mini), so it's good to know i won't need to get wider wheels/tyres once above 100hp



thanks meeni, i forgot about W&P arches! every cat and dog has mambas now. Whilst i love 10x6, it's weird as it seems 10x5 are less common (from looking on forums).
There are other things that will keep this car fun, so i can allow un-fun legal wheels



thanks for the heads up about customs. It's not much of an issue if they're a few days late. I've wanted them for 10 years so a few days won't hurt me! haha

I'm glad i asked this question, it seems midland wheels have a pretty good reputation. That was what i was picking up through a few different threads, but i just wanted validation first.
