Forget S/H ones though, by the time you pay through the nose for a ring set you may as well get new pistons as well.
IMO their Hypatec pistons are better than their pretend (made in China) Mahle ones.

These are good 1275 +40 pistons with new +40 rings. Make me an offer I don't have a need for them. I'm sure someone on here will give you an indication as to what you should pay?

Cheers for that, they do have quite a dish in them. I was going to put in flat top, or semi-flat top pistons. The ones I have at the moment are 30thou Morris 1300 pistons with the same dish, but I think I am losing too much compression. My S pistons were too buggered to use again, so I was going to bore to 40thou and do the flat top thing.

I think you'll find most 1275 + pistons all have a dish in them.
If you want raise your compression ratio you'll need to take into account of everyting in the "squish" area not by just putting in "flat top" pistons. There are a few in depth threads on how to do this. Here's a couple:

Usually shaving / facing the head is how we increase the compression after we know what compression ratio we have and what we want to go to!

Hypatec and Russell Eng oversize pistons are around 10.0:1 C/R.
The old Morris 1100S/1300 ones were 8.8:1.
These days when building a performance bigbore with a sporty cam in it the 10.0:1 (even 10.5+) is not a problem, if making a stroker though the pistons need decking for height and the dish enlarged to suit. Hypatecs are a bit better for this as the ring pack is a bit lower. Both pistons have a pretty thick crown.

8.8:1 AE pistons are still available from UK I think (21251 is their part number). But they are not as strong as the Hypatec or Russell ones.
