Just wondering what the correct pipe flaring tool is for making mini brake lines? They don't look like a double flare which most tools are, or doesn't it matter?

It's a double flare you need. There's a couple of single flares I think on the outlets of the limiting valve, but the rest are double flares.

UK sourced Mini's have what is known as "ball flares". I couldn't buy a new tool a while ago and ended up getting a used English tool that is probably quite old but works well. The same tool will do single and double flares.

Sorry to revive an old thread. I am replacing the front wheel cylinders on an 850 with the twin cylinders front drums. I had all sorts of problem with the flexible pipe union on the passenger side and finally used Inox to penetrate the union under the radiator on the subframe.
When I removed the wheel cylinder the connector pipe would not budge and the connector was badly damaged on the back one.
I've redone a new connector pipe but I am not sure I have done the correct flare. The old one that is visible from the front cylinder does not look like a double flare. More like a bubble. The inner of the new wheel cylinders do not look like they accept a double flare.
I replaced the rears earlier and made a solid connector from the flexible pipe on the trailing arm to the wheel cylinder. It had different flare for one fitting to that in the wheel cylinder.
Has anyone else had the same problem for the front cylinders?
I have not finished the passenger side and can make more pipe flares if I need to.

Have a look at Meeni's g13b thread.
He found a nice bit of kit for the right ends.
