I went to put the camshaft sprocket on and it fell on measured it up and it was 10 thou under size on the shaft is there a fix or is it a throw away my engine recon man sent it away to be re profiled to different grind while he was doing all the block work I'm sure it was ok when I sent it there but honestly I can't remember .I do have a lathe if I need to do any machining

Is it a new sprocket? I saw a batch that had come in from overseas a few weeks back that had various dimensional errors. Thankfully the reseller sent them back...

It is unusual that a camshaft would be undersize where the sprocket fits on.. :?

go back to the grinder and explain...

I don't think it'd be a good idea to try to machine up an adapter/spacer - it may work, but I reckon you'd constantly be worried about it and every time there was a weird noise you'd think the pulley was falling off

it wouldn't be unusual for it to have been swapped - the original may have not had enough material to take the new grind or he might have had one already ground on the shelf

Just measured it .864" cooper s one .874" I'm thinking it may need to be metal sprayed or thrown in the bin

I would ask the grinder first, sounds like he accidentally swapped you a dud cam for your good one...
