Hi can someone tell me where the motor came from
I know It's a 1275
12YE/A/H3083
as I have it now its just a block and crank
will a mini matic box bolt up to it
or is it from a rover?
thanks Mitch

It's from a Morris 1300 automatic. A MiniMatic box will bolt up, but you need the Morris 1300 primary gear. These are a different shape to a manual one.
You would want to make sure the Matic box is reconditioned, to handle the extra torque.

Doc, have you got a picture of an Auto Primary Gear?
Is it possible to convert a 998 auto primary gear into a 1275 auto primary gear? like you can do with manual primary gears

I don't have a pic but the bore detail is much the same as a manual one.
It's possible, but 1/8" has to be hard turned from the bore where the front bush sits and these gears are HARD! You need modern equipment and tooling, which I don't have.

I'd buy a new auto one off Matt Read.. or contact Simon K, I think he had a line on a s/h one.
Failing that PM me, I know someone else who has a few s/h.
