Now I know this is a broad question but what are they worth?
1100S L journal, 1100S S journal, generic 1275, Mk 1, Mk 2, A+ etc etc and lets assume they have been crack tested but may need machining?

OK I'll bite-
These days a crank regrind is $200 in Sydney so if worn, the buyer needs to add that before it's useable.

My opinion only-
I'd say that assuming it needs a grind, and the crank will clean up at -.010" or -.020":
998 crank = $50
1098 crank = $75
1100S big journal = $200, also A+
1100S small journal = $200
S crank Mk1 EN40B = $300
S crank Mk2 EN16T = $250-300
YMMV.

Disclaimer-
If the cranks are unworn or have a fresh grind they are obviously worth more, if they are going to need a -.040" grind to clean up they are worth less.
If talking 1098 cranks, a std or -.010" one is stronger, if the motor is going to get a rev.

[edit] I would NOT buy a crank without crack testing it first, most are 40 or more years old and many are cracked. Except 998s, they are more bulletproof it seems.

You can buy NOS EN40B Cooper S cranks, Kc still lists them. $2.5K or thereabouts.
You can get new 1275A+ cranks from UK cheap (Minisport) but the freight cost sucks.
There are now excellent 8 counterweighted race cranks, made in Melbourne. GR sells one version, there are a few variations. Budget $3.5-4.0K approx. Overkill for a road car???

[edit] Kenno, are you buying? Or selling?

Looking at buying, I have a spare 1100S block, head and a few sets of rods just no crank. If I can find a crank sometime in the future I'd be happy (this isn't needed I just want to find the parts to build a engine).

Try giving Neil from www.coopersimports.com a call. Last time I saw him he had 1275 A+ Minisport cranks for around the $500 mark.

I may have one if your interested. I'm sure it's a large journal as it was out of of a 79 1275 Moke. Needs cleaning up though.

I have a set of big journal rods here to suit that, they belong to Lillee. He's listed them in parts for sale forum, cheap.
