Hi all I am possibly looking for a mini friendly business or a good backyarders that would be interested in doing a 2pac respray on a mini that has had all the rust repairs completed. as long as the price would be reasonable and not extremely expensive like some restoration business I have contacted.
Cheers Hayden

One of our members "scudley" was going to get his car resprayed by Lord of the dings in Elizabeth.
Not sure where he is up to or if it has been done yet. Are you in the Northern area?
I will be looking for a painter next year as well.

Your best bet for a "cheap" respray is to either do it yourself, or find someone who will do it for you in your/their shed.

We did my clubby with autothane direct gloss, the price is good, and there is no clearcoat required, which saves quite a bit of money.

The reason the quotes you are getting are high are 2 fold (as im told by a friend who runs a paint shop)
1) It costs quite a bit to run a spray booth, both while spraying and while baking afterwards.
2) Alot of people who ask for a quick/cheap job, are happy the day they pick up the car, but then come back in a few weeks time complaining about this or that that one of their friends has picked up since the job and they then want it fixed for free... but since they where sold a cheap job they are cranky when they are told it will cost them to have to fixed.

so essentially, shops dont want to do quick/cheap jobs, because they are a headache.

I toyed with the idea of getting this guy to paint my car, as he was willing to do either a proper or a cheap job, but given we had the ability to do it ourselves, and not wanting to risk a friendship, we did it ourselves and it came out great. No Regrets
