Well it seems we have a turn of events. The guy has now decided he doesnt want to sell the elf and hornet. I had paid a deposit at the time of negotiations and delivered a chq for the balance today. This evening I get an email saying he has changed his mind.

Im sure legally I could make him give them to me as the deal is done, however morally it would be the wrong thing to do. Some people would take legal action but I understand the emotional attachment we get to these cars.

Bummer but all good things to those who wait.

You're doing the right thing I'm sure you will be the first one he gets in touch with.

In the mean time, see if he wants to display his collection at WA's newest, latest and greatest Mini Museum :D

Hope he doesn't resell them a month later for more money. Have seen that happen before.

So looks like the hornet and moke are definite, the convertible he just wants to hang onto for a while longer now. It has sat unused for 20 years but I try to see the good in people and trust he will do the right thing when the time comes.

Marty the museum will be open by appointment only

Oh well, that's a good compromise I suppose.

I'm trying to find a reason to get over to check out this museum myself...
