Hi All,

I know this has probably been done to death, but I want to confirm what colour is the engine bay of my 1970 K is supposed to be. I am up to cleaning up ready for paint (before I weld the new nose and guard on) and I am wondering if the engine bay is supposed to be body colour or semi gloss black? My car has been repainted about six times, there is white, black, red (two different shades), green and orange in it I am thinking body colour, but I remember my 63 850 was black (that could have been repainted at some stage under there too.

Body colour, every time.

Black is often been applied as an easy fix to make a crummy engine bay look a little bit better, but wasn't factory. One colour is easier and cheaper to paint as a manufacturer.
