Sounds correct, there was like minis early and later variants, and according to my Elf and Hornet workshop manual, they did get hydro as well as time went on, also auto.

You would probably earn this manual now you own both types if you would like it. Its in 98% perfect condition.
Bags a drive of one when I get over there sometime in return :)

It deserves to be with an original car more than my workshop shelf.

The manual is nice in that its all the same images more or less, but where there is a need for a body image, they didn't cop out and use a mini shape, they had the proper profiles and images made up. No doubt at some expense, and without any real need to.

I can fit 12 in my current shed allotment, have been eyeing up the stables and machinery shed for conversion but get slapped every time the wife catches me!

What a nice gesture Mick , kudos to you 8) .

I was only talking to a guy at work today that was telling me about a Mini Workshop Manual that he had , amongst a collection of manuals that were given to him by someone , and he gave it to another guy that was doing up a mini .

Nice cars too by the way Babes .

Had a play with the moke last night. It has sat for just over 20 years. Put some fresh oil and petrol in, changed the fuel pump, charged the battery and hit the key. Started on the second try and idled perfect. Drove it in and out of the garage. Torn between a full nut and bolt resto or just reco a few bits and drive it as is.

Is the steel as good as first impressions suggested?

It would be a good work run around :)

It is in exceptionally good condition, no major rust just light surface stuff in a few places. Floors are excellent no rust anywhere in them. It never ceases to amaze me something that has sat neglected for so long fires into life with the smallest amount of loving.

Yes that's true. I'm usually a fan of the idea that all cars are parked up for a good reason...something is usually broken and hidden...but your context is different as it came from a person aquiring cars for a museum.

It may register straight up

Sell it to me :D

Drive it as is for now get a feel for it then maybe the full nut n' bolt resto when it really needs it (or when you're really bored and out of other projects!).
