That is a late Moke in England where the chances of picking up a used 1275GT motor are much higher.

The numbers tell everything about the spec but two different cars using identical spec engines would have had different numbers because they are different cars. A Mini and an Allegro wouldn't have the same number even if the motors were the same.

OK, who on here has a late Moke and what is the engine number prefix?
I was told our A+ motor came from a late Moke... :)

Quite a few variations on that list that I bet were never made!
Pity that it only says 12Y on the late ones.

My Mini Car Clinic parts book (condensed version of the Mini King one?) says a 12H706 is a 1275GT (I assume UK) one with alternator, mech fuel pump & rodchange.

The Mini King Book just says the late? Moke 1275 motor is a 12H. Same as in Winabbey's chart above.

My moke i bought 18years ago when I was 12 years old (saved my paper run money) is AKFPD18Y/****** and the engine is 12Y/Ta/H. So from that list it doesnt have the original motor but it was a 1275 moke?

Yep, a 1275 Moke with an early Morris 1100S motor.

If your lucky the thick flanged block you have in he '79 will be a little different to an earlier 1275. If and when you get it open check the web above the centre main bearing, it should be solid where the regular 1275 had a triangular hole. Some argue that these are possibly the best blocks as they were getting the castings right before and the ribbed A+ Blocks that some found to be porous we're used.

Who would have thought eh, a Moke being used as a parts car? Usually the other way round for us Moker's.

Not to be confused with the Morris 1300 however!

Crazy people at BMC...

OK, now I am confused about the Morris 1300.
There is the:-
Morris Mini (mini 850 that I have)
Morris 1100 (next size up car). There was also a Morris 1500 (overhead cam I believe) of the same car.
Austin 1800 (large car relatively)
What was the Morris 1300

The Morris 1300 in Australia was only available with an auto box. It was the same car as a Morris 1500 but with a 1275 and auto. They did this because there was no auto version of the 1500 motor.
