Without a doubt, Link Automotive in Mitcham. Not the cheapest but you get what you pay for. And that's quality service and quality rebuilds. Been going there for over 20 yrs.

Minimakeovers1275 by far the best! Best value, best service & most helpful guys I have ever met! They built my engine and gearbox for over $2000 cheaper than the rest and I'm more than happy with the work they did. Check out their mini restorations, they are amazing!

Random question de luxe 1967(no smart comments you lot!) is there a B Rossiter associated with I Rossiter at Link Automotive? He would have been around in the 1960s :)

Dont know about that. Lindsay Seibler was definitely there as I think was Bryan, not entirely sure. Does Bryan lurk on this forum?

Wish I still had the car I had then, and the one after that, and the next one etc

Ah well, at least I've got the current one...

Thanks for that...I gather you mean that there is a Bryan Seibler, not a Rossiter...

Last time I checked with manufacturers, mating surfaces and bearing surfaces are machined to tolerance that doesn't include a spray of high gloss paint. Beware any engine builder who offers a full rebuild with paint on gasket surfaces and worse in the water jacket of the head!! They surely dont care about your rad getting blocked or the pump leaking as a start.

Didn't Brian Pope first work for Ron Brownrigg when they were out in the sticks in the Dandenongs. I got a new Y piece for my Brownrigg extractors from them in 1980 and seem to remember him there. I originally bought the extractors off Ron in 1971 when he was located at Blackburn I think it was, before he moved to the hills. The pipes are still going strong.

First post from Patseeew and such a glowing recommendation in a thread from the dead that runs diametrically opposite to so many other experiences? That said, it is tremendous you have had a great experience Patseeew… Would now be interesting to hear more details as to your specific experience to help us understand plus what led you to these guys?

PS in the interests of transparency I will admit that Link are currently in the throes of building me a new race engine for 'ole smokey'. They share NO blame whatsoever for the oil deciding it preferred to be outside rather than inside. That was entirely of my own doing!
