Just purchased a long term project and would like some assistance on its ball part year. The only easy date I could see on the wiper was 11/64. There is a floor starter but couldnt easily see anything on it. Any help from the brains trust would be greatly appreciated.

Its going to need a bit of work but I reckon it will be worth it. Smooth roof van without rear windows.

I would say it is at least a 65 model as Ceramic Green was first introduced in 65

Sliding window. The front apron also had the cut outs in front of the wheels.

The 850 Van type YJBAV1R was made between Feb 64 and April 65.
According to one source they made 3984 of them but going by the numbers they must have made at least 4700 of them.
I think this one is early 65 but I'm only guessing.

This model should have sliding window doors.

So out of interest would it have the later front panel with cut outs from factory

yes, the full front panel was replaced with the cut out type around 1962.

Early smooth roof/Sliding window door 850 vans are quite rare these days, not many have survived.

I thought 62 is a bit early my 64 998 cooper and wifes 64 smooth roof van has no cut outs

It does have cut outs on the apron also.

yes, I was wrong, late 64 they changed in the UK, so I would think early 65 here in Aus.

Over the weekend when I collect it. Some butcher has cut the front guards off so it needs front end work. A panels rusted and the front floors a bit average.

What sort of speedo would it have? There is no gauge in it. 90mph but what colour back ground?

I think it would probably be the same as a Mini 850. Silver face.

There was a bonnet badge amongst the parts that had black in the bull logo and lines. What would that be off or is it a custom job?
