Did some more door research, it appears that nobody had repair sections as the Australian wind up doors are unique so the repair sections sold in the UK do not fit. Thanks to Tim from Karcraft who told me why.
So I looked around at doors and they are not really rare yet, but not a great many in the local area, I did find a driver side one that was really nice, not a spec of rust in it, and the price reflected the condition. The price was not a show stopper on a project like this, but if they are getting rare do you keep the old doors ? Throw them out ?
So encouraged by Project Binky I repaired the Passenger door as it was easier, the rust was not near as bad. That went very well considering I really did not know what I was doing.
On the weekend I finished the Driver door, folded up a new section for the very bottom and the section that is under the door pocket. Then rebuilt the ends.
The end result is good, when you weld sheet metal you get distortion, and the more you weld the more you get. I imagine someone who knew more about it would be able to do a better job, but a little more grinding in a few spots and a little bit of filler to cover some of the little ripples and I think it will do fine.
So you can do this sort of thing at home, nothing wrong with taking on a challenge, however it took me most of two days, so would have been much easier to buy another door.
Now do I fix the door pocket, or look for another one......?
