I took the Mini for a run up through the mountains today.
It was a 185 kilometer blast through the mountain ranges behind Canberra and up past Cooma before a blast back down the bitumen towards home.

Pretty slushy, and a few moments there but nothing the old mini couldn't deal with at all. Once on the bitumen however, it pays to aim for the white stuff. The black stuff is ice....

Good fun and a well earned visit to the car wash after that. I think I spent about 6 dollars just in pressure washing the underside :) A great way to spend a day.

I'll try and fix the privacy problem. Its self editing at the moment, so that might be the problem

Great shots and sounds in that video.

Who held the camera? I can see your left hand on the steering wheel so was one of your kids the cameraman, I mean camerachild?

Shame we can't see the speedo reading. 8)

Ha ha. Well the speed was actually rather low if you extrapolate the 2.5k Smiths Tacho against the 3.44 diff and top gear, so maybe 60 ks an hour. That was exciting enough through the slush...

Awesome, looks cold though which makes me wonder how my son is going in the bush these two weeks up there at ADFA.

Where's the left foot braking and changing gears without the clutch like in rally days

Ha ha. Maybe if I had studded tyres......and the promise of a tow out of a ravine.

Thanks for sharing. Love the colour too! You don't see many coopers in a single body colour and the all-red against that snowy backdrop looks stunning!

... and if he stops for a wee behind a nearby tree he has a good chance of finding the car again. :)

ohh yeah, it sure does...

I claim responsibility for convincing Mick to keep the roof the proper colour, rather than going with 'Merino White'

You should see the look on peoples faces when they notice this tiny little car which is not a 4WD or even an SUV trundling along partially sideways through the snow.. :)

next time you take the family to the Snow, use this one, it would be a little warmer.
