Hey guys
I purchased a Mini project from a work mate a while back and have slowing been gathering parts and ideas on how I want to build it and now might have to sell it to get a house
So I have a 67 Mini round nose partly deSeamed and completely stripped media blasted and etched primed in 2K includes almost all the required rust repair panels and replacement panels. New coil overs and rear beam and new bushes and bearing for suspension, plus a MK 1 Suzuki Swift GTi motor and box oh I should add has disc brake front end and 10 in minlite style mags
So what is is worth

This is a good shell and so much better then so many I have seen yes there are obvious issues but the repair bits are included
So what is it worth please, I have had a few look and express interest already so need to know cheers new parts included worth about $2000

Cheers
Michael

Should this be in For Sale? Wheels look like Contessa...

Given discs and coil-overs, I'd say around 1000...

Thanks for that, if I read the terms an condition correctly EOI and price checks are NOT to be posted in for sale section
Coils cost nearly !000 on their own, disc were 1500 so 1000 for whole car would be too cheap for me to sell

You could put it in the EOI section then?

I could but then if it is only worth $1000 as suggested it would not be worth my while to sell and EOI section is for items that are definitely for sale. I am just trying to play by rules and find out what my car might be worth, if someone can see the potential and make a good offer then I will sell it but if it is not worth anything I will keep it,

You're probably better of selling the bits off by themselves.

The coilovers might fetch $500 if you're lucky.
$100 for the rear subframe.
$200 for the Contessas.
$500 for the discs.

And god knows what the engine is worth - it should have an A series in it

Its only worth what someone's willing to pay then its up to the seller to say yes or no

I would have kept the A series, only if all I ever wanted to do is drive slowly and break down a lot :P

I suggested 1000 (say) based on a disc brake set needing overhaul, the fact that coilovers aren't for everybody and the body has been molested (so limits its use to someone who wants to do an engine conversion or is happy to restore to original (say)

as stated above...only worth what someone is willing to pay :D

its all good 9YaTaH, I think its worth more, having seen some of the shells people are doing up this one is almost in excellent order, apart from where the rust is cut out already which compared to some...
I asked for opinions, I am not about to cry because I am not getting great Internet validation
If the car isn't worth anything then I can keep it, it was $1500 to media blast and 2 Pack Etch the shell, it will just be time to repair it now and I will have one mint shell.

A good round shell is worth around 2k. You have more than 2k worth of panel work in that shell. These things are never worth what you put into them. Realistically as is that shell is worth a couple of hundred at best. I'd be more inclined to scrap it for panels and find a better shell.

I am not sure I follow your logic Low n blown
the shell is clean, all rust revealed and all replacement panels already purchased and ready to be welded on, I have a welder all i need is time cost to finish ... beer + time = finished mint shell

Beer + time = Money

At this point in time that shell needs either a lot of time spent on it or a lot of money. Now if it were a mint shell it would be worth 2k. So what is 2k minus a lot of work and beer worth. Sorry mate but if you are asking for a guide to price from the little I can see of the shell it is pretty average. Besides the obvious missing guard, missing slam panel, rusted out boot and battery box, bent inner wing,
rusted left hand door sill, and unfinished and amateur deseaming job I cant see it having much value.....

I think willy's advice was pretty sound. This project would be worth more to you in parts than as a whole. Many people cant weld a shell together and so would be hesitant to buy a shell that is in such a state. My advice cut your losses and to scrap it in parts is your best option.

You have asked for honest opinions....Here is mine.

It's an okay shell to restore, but it's only just over the safe side of the save/scrap line, so it's just not worth much!

The new replacement panels are worth more than the shell itself.
I think many members of this forum, like me, have a similar spare shell stored away. I understand your situation all too well.
Not worth enough to sell, too nice to scrap, and too much work to tackle now, but maybe if I find the time...

The parts sound like they'd get a few dollars, new panels also can bring good money, but the shell itself, not so much

Mate these are pretty good opinions, from fellow mini enthusiasts and resto gods.
But I do empathise with you though , I dread a time where I would be forced into a position of having to let go of my project, for some good reasons:
- No one will ever have the same vision as you had for your car or see the value in it
- new bits once bought .. Are old bits :)
- once the offering (time, money or beer ;) ) is thrown at the "altar of mini" , it never comes back ...

Part it and enjoy your house :)
