has anybody tried modding the gear stick? With the gearbox rebuild the shifter seems too much forward so I was thinking of putting a bend in it to bring it further back plus it's been chopped by previous owner so I may add some more height.

Anyone tried this and how'd you go?

You could try one of the "Speedwell" type extensions, that would give you the height and might bring it back far enough?

I seem to remember the Morris 1100 gear stick is slightly longer and has a rearward rake so can be used in place of the Mini types. morris 1100 on here would know so send him a PM if you want to know more.

The black Mini K/Clubman/Mk2 S stick bends back further than the chrome Deluxe/Mk1 S type.

Yes that Morris 1100 looks bent too much. Would anyone have a pic of the mk1 s type?

I bent a Cooper S one back about another 5 degrees to suit the driving position in the Marcos. Do it cold - don't heat it up because you may damage the rubber bush, and don't bend it too far or it will interfere with the handbrake
