Continuing the dud condenser theme, I replaced another today. This one was in a mate's near new (2 yr old) aftermarket cheapo 45D style dizzy. I robbed another 40 year old Lucas one and away it went.
I think it amazing that China can build reliable modern electronics but can't make a decent bloody auto condenser!

yep, i`ve had plenty of crook condensors within the last few years
not worth the tin their housed in

Could it be a faulty coil frying the
I have had two cars with faulty coils of late both blew the condensors then a few months later the coil.

Coil is a Bosch GT40T, it measured 3 ohms. I agree 1.5 ohm ones can blow some modules that are rated for 3 ohm only, but I doubt it would hurt a good capacitor.

Another shout out to Dr. Mini, his just machined one of my calipers and given some helpful advice to help the rebuild too, always happy to take his time and give helpful advice!
