How many of these would have come into OZ MIne was an 850 with a pudding stirrer gear stick
Seemed to be made of thicker steel and had the oval compliance and different grill
Cost 50 bucks at my first job

Austins weren`t brought here by the factory.
Morris`s were supplied to Aust (in general)

but NZ & other countrys did get Austins

altho there are plenty of Austin minis here,,, but personal imports only (pretty-well) apart from the occasional test car or "in-house" factory high-ranking employee & the like.

No offence intended here but--> anyone writing a book about minis 30 years ago may not have experienced such worn or stuffed-with components as we are finding these days.

The panel steel was real thick.

The Australian factory built some Austins for export. NZ got some Australian Austin Minis and some Austin Mokes went to South east Asia.

Did any stay here or come back later?
