Been thier and done that....yes I have insured with them and not happy with them

My 2 cent's and my opinion :!:

watch it son, I'm an NRMA shareholder!
Got all our other insurances with 'em, they've been OK over the years.

Yea thats the thing with insurance companies - they are great and give excelent service for years, but then you try to lodge a claim.......

But shanons all the way for me - Vigyl is $200 cheaper a year, but I like Shanons. Great service when I crashed. their assesors are arseholes though - mine tried to convince me that my mechanic (Ivan - Mini Spares) didnt know what he was doing or was in conspiracy with me to cheat them. He actualy tried to treaten me into going to someone else or give up a claim - but then it turned out we were in the right.

But I should've just called Shanons from the begining and complain, coz when i did it all worked out fine. And their guys actualy told me stuff along the lines of: "I wouldn't compromise for a used wheel, you shouldn't either" and "I reckon you've got a full right to ask for a new item". So there's customer loyalty created right there.

Vigil were $50 cheaper, but for a lot less cover. And, paying them each year from NSW was a PITA- sending cheques to Melb and hoping they got there. Sometimes got no confirmation that they had received payment.
With Shannons, you can actually ring up & speak to a real person!

When I was living in Adelaide last year I rang Shannons for a quote on the Clubby and they never got back to me so I went with someone else. Mind you it was just for a standard worn out car nothing special. Sounds as though I might have to check them out for the beast when it's finished.

Welcome to the club Mini haha  Finally took my advice eh Kev? You can also put the Ford onto Shannons too. Doesn't need to be a classic but so long as you have another classic already insured then you can get a 10% discount on the other car(s). No I aint an insurance salesman!

They definitely insure under 25's. We have many club members who have their Minis insured with them.

We have all our cars with Shannons, plus our house and contents. I wouldn't go anywhere else.
