Hey all,

I'm currently in the search for a mini, although i just realised i might have an issue getting it over my driveway!
I'm located at Rydalmere and i was just wondering if there are any good samaritans out there that use Victoria Rd, that would be able to drop by my house and drive over my driveway, it would be greatly appreicated so as to save me buying a car i can't get into my driveway!

Im in between uni and school so im available pretty much anytime, just PM me if you can!

Sorry don't travell that way much... but I'm sure there are some people around that do that will be willing to test it for you... I'm just wondering what it is about your driveway that you don't think a mini will be able to drive up it?

I doubt you will have any problems as long as the car hasn't sagged alot of been lowered substantially.

Mini's are not that low stock, with the original suspension they actually had a lot of clearance.

That said, most are sitting low these days, but you could always put hi-lo's in and raise the car a bit if you have any trouble.

I'm with minimad, a mini should be able to go most places where a normal car (provided its driven carefully).

My parents have a drop as the driveway meets the street that I used to regularly scrape with the chin of my stock VT Commodore Acclaim (clenches butt cheeks just retelling the story :X ).

I have not scraped it once in the mini, partly due to the fact that there is no dozing off when driving the mini.

So long as there's not major hump in the driveway then a mini will be fine. The wheels are quite close to the front and rear of the car so there's not much of an overhang. They can therefore go into some deep dips but not high humps. I'm sorry for my description. I can't make it any clearer easily. Hope you understand.

The driveway raise's maybe 5-8cm from the road hieght then drops away, and most cars that drive in do scrape (mazda 626/current car hits on the exhaust flange) as well as my brothers VL commodore, and nissan pulsar (old car).

So i'm a bit hesitant because i dont want a project which scratches every time i drive it out!!

ull bang the gear box before anything else(leaking hydro on my car scratches on small speedhumps)

have u tried the half brick or pice of wood trick?

I find that if you go on an angle it's pretty hard to scrape the gearbox casing unless you drive square on with anything. Have the front wheels in line with the gearbox means that if you take anything you may hit on an angle raising one wheel will enable you to clear the gearbox.

I think the most common item bottoming out is the exhaust system if it hasn't been tucked away nicely..

My dad made these big hills in our driveway to prevent the road from washing away then it rains. Jeremy gets over them alright... just shakes up my breaky a bit. So i recon you will be right
