Yes it is true, they are made by Ken Elder & Sons in Sydney.
Available from Graham Russell too.
Here's a pic of one with injection...

heheh, probably still taking less time to build the bmw head than it would take to earn the money to buy a kad 16 valve!!!

That looks great, what a neat engine bay.

Does anyone know what sort of power the head adds?

That engine bay in the photo is in the ute owned by Dean Canto.

you can read all about the ute in Issue 4 of The Mini Experience.

Engine built by Graham Russell, with fuel injection and that Elder head, apparently putting out around 165bhp with 150 lb/ft of torque. Pretty goos for an A-series, and goes like stink. I know - Dean took me for a ride in it. Wow!

Cheers, Watto.

We ran one of those Elder heads on a 1360 last year at Graham Russell's ausmini dyno day. It was on twin Webers (and an RE282 cam I think), power was a bit less than Dean's but I can't remember exactly. 145HP at crank? (proper Heenan & Froude engine dyno, not a rolling road).
