i got a problem with my driveshaft on the driver side, about a week ago i checked up the car for a usual inspection and i noticed that the driver side driveshaft is starting to rub up against the side of the block, it is noticable at high speeds cause theres a vibration and the knocking noise from the front

i was thinking it could be caused by the engine mounts but if anyone else knows another possible reason id like to know

If it has the rubber driveshaft couplings, this is a sign they are knackered.
If rubbers are cracked and swelled the joint has had it.
Buy a new one and don't overtighten their U-bolts. Check the other side too.
If you let it go too long, it can wear a hole in the gearbox case.....

Not so much the rubbers swelling but the rubber becoming unbonded to the steel X inside and moving about a bit . Basically it means the joint's getting ready to fall apart .

You'll most likely only need the rubber uni (universal joint) have a bit of a ring around and ask how much to replace it and you'll see if there's any difference . If the caster bars bent slightly don't woryy about it , you can straighten it yourself , slight bends are cosmetic only really and they cop a hiding from kerbs and the like .

ah ok cool ive actually noticed that it might not be the rubbers that are hitting the block its the U claps that they used, hmmmm are they meant to be there lol. whats the best way to bend it back to juz hammer it with a rubber mallet or take it off and use a press or vice?

The U bolts are what hold the rubber uni's onto the driveshafts , generally if they are hitting the gearbox it's because the rubber uni's are stuffed and letting them move that far . reach up from underneath with a big screwdriver and see if you can move the shaftson the rubber uni , if there's any movement just replace them , they should be a tight , near solid mount when everything's connected .
