Hi is there any problems putting a 3 guage cluster into a 2 guage setup mini, do the plugs match? how do you connect the tacho up etc. Thanks in advance

On the later clubbies they had the wires just sitting behind the two guage for the tacho. Early clubbies didn't have this so you'll need to wire it.
wiring harness plugs are the same.
make sure that you have the three guage mounting bracket too.

If you are handy it is rather easy to convert a 2 guage bracket to take the 3 guage cluster. Just take your time and make sure the guages will end up at the correct angle :) The lower arms is all that needs to be modified, I simply cut them off and fabricated up 2 new ones and welded em on 8) .
All the wiring should go straight on and like TK said the later clubbies they had the wires just sitting behind the old guages for the tacho and their should be a spare wire near the coil (I think) that needs conecting, confirm this first.
Good luck, also if you brought them what did you pay?

It cost 10 dollars at a swap meet. Came with the whole surround bit, (with the middle visor thingy missing), but i took it off

This is the tacho close up, I want to connect it to my existing 2 guage set. Is this possible (i know it is) to be done easily? Mounting is not a problem, i just need to know what goes where, there are 3 spots that should be connected, The first is the screw next to the 286 sticker, that was holding the plastic board in. The second one is where the red wire was connected in the previous pics and the third is a connecor sticking out (im guessing negative?)

Someone with experience with these tachos please help.
Thanks in adv.

Matt,

Ill give you a hand... call me and pop over we'll sort it together. .. the blinker is in a different spot so that has to move... if I knew you were doing this I would have just swapped you my cluster for your 2 guage, I took the tacho off and put in aftermarket - why didnt you speak up sooner! :)

Cookie720 - Ill post tonight with instructions, cant do it now.

Pete
